Sommar Solace

This spring I had the pleasure of working with felt sculpture artist Kristina Goransson to create a new interactive work inspired by the energy and serenity of a summer in Sweden. Kristina and I were introduced to one another by the Scandinavian Cultural Center's curator with the charge to imagine a project. Imagine we did! The collaboration resulted in Kristina's whimsical, bright felt chandelier that was hung and projected 5 short soundscapes that I wrote and recorded. The project was a wonderful challenge, and I enjoyed thinking about calm moments spent on the Baltic Sea, especially while experimenting with and learning new recording gear!
